Heaner Design Group provided the architectural, engineering and land surveying services for the design of a new state of the art equestrian facility for Lander University on the campus of Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs in Greenwood, SC. The equestrian development when completed will feature a 45,000 sf covered competition arena, 20,735 square foot therapeutic facility, over 15,000 sf of stables, equipment/feed storage buildings, over 10 acres of fenced of paddocks, and another 20 acres available for future pastures. Heaner Design Group provided the master planning, land surveying, site engineering, and construction observation for the equestrian development.

A beautiful nine acre site centrally located in the City of Greenwood, South Carolina. It is an integral part of the City of Greenwood’s park system and we worked closely with Greenwood County Parks and Trails Foundation to accomplish the goals. This was a well received community project that also connected with the “Rails to Trails” system. It was primarily funded through private donations. Also, it was the ideal facility constructed under budget and included: two playgrounds, a restroom facility, gazebo, sidewalks, walking paths, parking lots and perimeter fencing.
