Heart and soul of Greenwood's commercial district.

 

Greenwood Commons is a 66-acre commercial development located on Highway 72 Bypass, which is now the heart and soul of Greenwood’s commercial district.  This project was extremely important to the Greenwood Community, as it now serves as home to several new and exciting restaurants and retail stores, most of which are nationally recognized.  The design development provided by Heaner Design Group played a crucial role in the success of the project completion.  The objective was to create an aesthetically pleasing and functional commercial development that would attract major retail stores and restaurant chains while providing a development suitable to the people of the community.

The responsibilities of Heaner Design Group for this project included land surveying, planning, and site engineering.  The land surveying included boundary, topographic, and existing utility location surveys, which provided a base plan from which to begin the site engineering.  The planning involved completing multiple site layouts to the satisfaction of major corporate tenants.  The engineering work consisted of grading and drainage plans, road design, water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, storm sewer, and storm water detention design.  Throughout the life of the project, Heaner Design Group consulted with both local and state authorities to ensure a design that met all stipulated regulations.
